The Fern Hotels & Resorts has opened The Fern Kesarval Hotel & Spa, Verna Plateau-Goa – taking the tally to 57 hotels managed by the company. The Fern Kesarval Hotel & Spa is a 60-room hotel offering contemporary accommodations, a finely-designed, multi-cuisine restaurant and bar, state-of-art banquet halls, a swimming pool and poolside lawns.

The hotel offers four different categories of rooms – Winter Green, Winter Green Premium, Fern Club and Hazel Suite. Taj Rishikesh Resort and Spa debuts new north Indian property

South Asia’s largest hospitality company, the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), has opened the Taj Rishikesh Resort and Spa in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The Taj Rishikesh Resort and Spa is set on 13 acres of terraced gardens on the bank of the river Ganges, in the shadow of the Himalayan Mountains. The resort’s soft opening welcomes guests to try 25 of its rooms and café, the hard opening is set for November 2019.

The resort will be an ideal destination for weddings and conferences with indoor and outdoor banqueting spaces. The spa facilities and activity packages on offer such as white-river rafting and rock climbing will also cater to those booking incentive trips.

The Taj Theog Resort & Spa opens in Shimla

The Taj Theog Resort & Spa, Shimla, a hilltop resort, has opened on a ridge 75 minutes from Shimla town, beyond the pine-scented Kufri and before Narkanda.

The Taj Theog is spread over five undulating acres of forest. All of the 99 rooms afford panoramic views of the green and the snow-capped Himalayas beyond. Marriott opens Four Points by Sheraton Kochi Infopark

Marriott International has opened Four Points by Sheraton Kochi Infopark, expanding the brand into Kerala. The addition of this property strengthens the Four Points brand presence in India to 12 hotels across key gateway cities and upcoming destinations across the country.

Four Points by Sheraton Kochi Infopark features 5,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space, ideal for conferences. In addition, the hotel also features a 24-hour gym, a spa and an infinity pool.

InterContinental opens in Dhaka, Bangladesh

InterContinental Hotels Group has re-launched in the Bangladeshi market with its latest opening in the capital, the InterContinental Dhaka, Bangladesh. The hotel offers 226 guest rooms including 25 suites and facilities such as a club lounge, temperature-controlled swimming pool overlooking Ramna Park, a steam room, sauna and spa. Dining options include five F&B outlets that offer a variety of cuisines – an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, lobby cafe and pool bar. For meetings, the property offers more than 1,950 sq m of space across two ballrooms and seven meeting rooms, all equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore completes update

The Four Seasons Hotel Singapore has completed its year-long room renewal programme of its 225 guestrooms including four suites.

All refurbished rooms and suites now boast large floor-to-ceiling windows, providing sweeping views of the city and allowing plenty of natural light. In addition, the design of the four suites – the Royal Suite, Governor Suite, Ambassador Suite and the Presidential Suite – takes a leaf from Singapore’s history.

Opening of ibis Kolkata Rajarhat

AccorHotels, in partnership with InterGlobe Hotels, has announced the launch of their economy brand in Kolkata with the opening of ibis Kolkata Rajarhat. Ibis Kolkata Rajarhat will set the standard for some of the future ibis hotels in India, with new features including a sleeker and more colourful facade that breaks away from the traditional standardised monochrome exterior and more colourful rooms with wider windows and better beds.

Ibis Kolkata Rajarhat offers 189 rooms, taking the ibis brand to 19 hotels across 13 cities with over 3,000 rooms. Kolkata as a destination has seen a large influx of travellers for business and leisure. Strategically placed near the airport, IT parks and multiple malls, ibis Kolkata Rajarhat will cater to the emerging IT and ITES hub. It is also close to tourist attractions such as the Wax Museum, Rabindra Tirtha and Nazrul Tirtha cultural centres, Eco Park and several jogging trails.
