Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched an online marketing initiative via different digital platforms which facilitate global event organizers and MICE travellers to connect with Thailand as a destination. TCEB is developing its digital strategy by launching two new mobile applications, Smart BIZ Event and Smart BIZ Organizer, tools for use in Thailand’s MICE industry.
Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, president of TCEB, said: “TCEB’s strategy focuses on innovation. We aim to catch up the digital trend and respond to the demand of MICE organisers and travellers in the digital era. In the fiscal year 2017, the target markets show a great response to our activities which include the development of our website, online sales and marketing channels, as well as online marketing communications.”
Chiruit added that TCEB has been supporting and mentoring Thailand’s MICE industry through technology and innovation. These initiatives conform with the Thai Government’s Digital Economy Policy as well as the Thailand 4.0. The MICE Industry Master Plan Year 2017-2021 will stimulate the growth of MICE events in the country by creating differentiation, attract MICE travellers, and use knowledge and statistic platforms to support the industry with strategic planning.
Adding to the success of this digital platform, TCEB also developed the mobile application called ‘Biz Thailand’, to cater to the rising use of smartphones. The app supports information in Thai and English. It offers information about tourist attractions, restaurants, accommodations, domestic and international flights, as well as data on MICE venues in Bangkok and other MICE cities. Users will get a real-time update on news and promotion activities by the location-based service while the link with social media will help the users to share the information with their network. This application assists users who are interested in conventions and business events in Thailand.
