‘Societal impact’ at the forefront of Dubai Association Conference

The Dubai Association Conference 2019 is themed around the societal impact of associations. The event, which is taking place on 9 and 10 December at Dubai World Trade Centre, will revolve around the core themes of: “Driving change: The societal impact of associations.”

This core theme will be broken down into four sub-themes: community wellbeing, knowledge and research, business and opportunity and creativity and innovation.

These themes can be explored by conference attendees via a variety of panel discussions, interactive sessions and expert briefings from government representatives, industry professionals and academics.

“Along with being a catalyst for business opportunities within a thriving ecosystem, associations have the power to fuel innovation and creativity which ultimately contributes to the wellbeing of society,” said Issam Kazim CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

“We are excited to host association professionals from around the world to explore the key themes of this year’s Dubai Association Conference. With a remarkable line-up of international speakers and a full schedule of insightful and interactive sessions, the program underlines our commitment to not only fostering the growth of the association community but also its development.”

The event, which has the full support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, aims to act as a platform to facilitate discussion about the value of associations and how they influence local and global economies.

“Associations are important building blocks for society. They create influential platforms for sharing opinions, they provide fertile ground for the exploration and dissemination of new ideas, and they establish unified codes and procedures,” said Hassan Al Hashemi, vice president of international relations at Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He added that associations are important for the business ecosystem and Dubai aims to transform into a “regional hub for associations” in the near future.

There are already 60 associations licensed under Dubai Association Centre and the Dubai Association Conference 2019 aims to increase this number.
