Jaipur will be home to the State’s largest convention and exhibition facility and one of the largest in the country with the completion of the first phase of a massive mixed-use project. Spread over 42 acres of land, Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) will house two exhibition centres of 110,000 square feet each, a convention centre spread over 30,000 square feet, a four and a five star hotel, commercial and entertainment space, to be constructed in various phases. The project is located at Sitapura, a prominent industrial area in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
“The first phase of the project is near complete. We are opening one of two exhibition centres and the convention centre on October 25 next month. The exhibition centre, spread over 110,000 square feet, is a huge column-less hall and can also be used for conferences that will require space even larger than 30,000 square feet. This will be the largest facility and the first of its kind in Rajasthan,” said Chairman of Dangayach Group, Hari Mohan Dangayach and one of the co-owners of Pink City Diligent Pvt. Ltd., the consortium that owns JECC. The first exhibition scheduled to take place is ‘Vastara’, an international textile and apparel fair on October 29-31, 2014.
In the second phase JECC will open its second exhibition hall in January 2015. Subsequent phases will see the launch of two hotels and commercial and entertainment centres in 2016.
Dangayach also said that JECC is currently in talks with potential operators including Accor to manage the exhibition and convention centres and will soon finalise the operator.
