MCI has announced it is opening a new office in Santiago, Chile, following a rapid expansion in South America.
The professional conference organiser (PCO) debuted in the continent in 2009 and today serves a growing client base through five offices in Brazil and Argentina.
Entrepreneur Lorena Santana has been appointed MD at MCI Chile and will be in charge of a 20-strong team.
She said: “MCI’s global expertise combined with the local knowledge and connections of my team represent a significant competitive advantage.
“The MCI Group’s leading international position along with its commitment to personalised service, sustainability, digital innovation and return on investment will allow us to consolidate our position in the Chilean market in the medium term.”
According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Rankings, Chile is the third leading destination in South America for events, conferences and meetings and registered an impressive growth of 8.1 per cent in 2013.
MCI LatAm MD Mariano Castex said: “Chile is building a reputation as an attractive, safe and competitive destination with appropriate capacity and infrastructure for international events. As of now, MCI has the local expertise and facilities to help corporate and association to develop their brands and association communities in this fast-paced new market.”
