Hyderabad’s bid for water puts another congress in the pipeline for 2018

Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) has won a fiercely competitive bid process to host the Global Water Security Conference to be held October, 2018. The conference will be attended by about 500 delegates of whom from 30 countries. Among the attendees will be scientists, researchers, NGOs, policy makers, entrepreneurs and farmers over three days of meetings and a day-long technical tour.

The purpose of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Global Water Security conference is to bring researchers, practitioners and policy-makers to a worldwide platform to share research and discuss creative solutions related to water security. The conference will emphasize the importance of water security focusing on production of food, fibre and energy crops as well as maintaining water quality and quantity needed for ecosystem health.

The goals of this conference are to provide a forum for an international exchange of scientific ideas and technologies to address global water security issues, especially related to agricultural production, water quality, ecosystem protection and biodiversity; identify and prioritize future water security needs and devise strategies needed to secure adequate water supplies for meeting current and future water demand for food, fibre and energy production.
