Dubai Business Events (DBE) is targeting the MICE segment from India. They have conducted roadshows in major Indian cities on a regular basis, interacting with incentive travel specialists and meeting planners as well as with corporate clients.
Karina Lance, senior manager sales and convention services for Dubai Business Events’ said India’s events sector is a relatively new but prime source market, which is increasing on a large scale in Dubai. DBE has shown the meeting planners convenient venues that can accommodate large groups. “We have a variety of venues out of which the World Trade Centre is the biggest,” said Lance.
DBE receives about 225 events per year and approximately 70 out of those are from India. On an average, DBE sees a growth of 8-10 per cent year-on-year and 10-15 per cent growth from source markets like India and China.
The Dubai Business Events is also promoting Expo 2020 which will start from October 2020 and end by April 2021. During the six months of the expo, they expect 25 million visitors from across the world, added Lance.
