When 600 delegates attended UTI Mutual Fund’s gala event at Disneyland Paris, it was more than an incentive – it was also an educational experience. Shekhar Niyogi reports.
UTI Mutual Fund is part of UTI Asset Management Company (UTI AMC), which has completed 50 years as India’s leading financial service institution and was the sole vehicle of capital market investment for Indian citizens till the early 90s. The institution has shown great resilience and has grown from strength to strength, overcoming economic turbulence and global turnarounds.
UTI has contributed immensely to industrial and capital growth in the Indian market. It has led transformative initiatives like developmental financial institutions, rural outreach programs and financial products and services. UTI AMC is today a household name in India with 150 branches, 47,000 highly trained financial advisors, 320 chief agents and business development associates and over 10 million investor accounts.
More than 600 delegates of UTI Mutual Fund were hosted at Business Solutions – a division of Disneyland Paris for a scintillating MICE gala. The delegates originated from several cities in India but flew into Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris from New Delhi and Mumbai. The UTI delegates were chosen from among nationwide high performers among the company’s investment consultants who sold mutual funds and other investment plans. The company’s objective was to reward the attendees with an unforgettable experience of Paris, in order to inspire and motivate them for greater performances and achievements in the future. They were also introduced to some new investment products that are to be launched in 2019 and discussions were held on the impact of GST on the investment behaviour of clients.
Talking about the event Raien Naraghi, Business Development Manager – ME & India, Exclusive Events-Disneyland Paris, said: “We were offered the unique task of creating an experience for the patrons of UTI Mutual Funds who each have had their respected experiences travelling the world. Spending the day in the park with the animations, attractions and shows was just the tip of the iceberg to wow our beloved guests. The world of Disney was unique but we wanted to make sure they felt the familiarity of home.”
The client chose Disneyland Paris as they wanted their chosen delegates – all high performing individuals – to experience something magical and extraordinary that added a dreamlike quality to their travel experience. The objective was for their delegates to remember the trip and be motivated for higher business performance. The participants were very happy with this experience as Paris was on the bucket list of travel aspirations for most of them and it was a realisation of a dream. The incentive was very successful, as much for the choice of destinations as for the itinerary that included the Disneyland attractions which offered a dream-like experience.
Upon their arrival at the magical destination for a three nights’ stay, the guests were greeted at their dedicated check-in counter at Disneyland Hotel on Rue de la Marnière, Chessy, that ensured a quick entry in their rooms.
After an overnight stay, upon waking up they were offered a magnificent Indian breakfast at the hotel’s multi-cultural breakfast buffet. The second day was a full day of experiencing magical attractions, parades and performances, which they enjoyed while traversing through the Disneyland Park. At the end of an entertaining day of revelry in the Disney Magic, the UTI delegates came back to their hotel for marvellous gala dinner that included Bollywood music and entertainment, all wrapped up in the marvellous magic of Disney. Performers were rewarded and speakers extolled the virtues of achievement orientation through their motivational speeches.
The next day was spent in a city tour of Paris that had the attendees enjoy the experience of the Eiffel Tower, l’Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, a lunch at an Indian restaurant, a cruise on the Seine, The Notre Dame cathedral and an evening tour of Pigalle and an uphill funicular ride to the Sacre Coeur, culminating in Place du Theatre in the Montmartre village. A set menu dinner followed by wine and cheese rounded off the day’s mesmerising experience.
