How Airtel rang the changes in Dubai

When Airtel, one of India’s largest mobile phone service providers, planned a three-day leadership event for multiple business units to come together they chose the Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City, amidst Dubai’s beautiful landscape. They used it to look back at the high points of the previous year and discuss the key strategic plans for the coming financial year.

The 250-delegate event commenced with a closed room and a limited member board meeting, which was later followed by a formal inauguration and welcome address by Sunil Bharti Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, owner of the Airtel brand.

The theme of the event was ‘Execute Brilliantly, Win Decisively’, and the conference was heavily digitalised while creating an 84-feet curved LED stage for the business conference. With an open Q&A session, presentations, motivational speeches and activities, the conference added to high motivation levels of the top performers.

The awards night at the poolside was themed “Havana Nights”. All participants were given the opportunity to imbibe the true essence of the Havana culture. Thematic props and accessories were offered to the guests, setting the perfect tone for the evening.

Followed by the awards ceremony, the entertainment featured a virtuoso salsa dance performance, an interactive choreography session that was followed by an internationally renowned band, ‘Right Show’. As part the celebration, a mixologist displayed his skills and entertained the guests with his art resulting in exotic cocktails for the participants.

The event planner’s audio visual team captured candid moments of the participants and merged them into an audio-visual presentation that was screened during the business conference. This was followed by sessions from the CEOs of the company’s operations in India and Africa in the midst of multiple thematic zones that were conceptualised, constructed and executed by Akkado. These zones were impeccably set up for multiple business units of both India and Africa.

This leadership event ended on a very optimistic and encouraging note with all the CEOs taking a pledge of enhanced performance for the next financial year. Akkado brought into play the Slingshot technology by using the Conclave App as the host server for the software and database.

The Airtel management were extremely satisfied with the outcome of the three-day forum that spelled greater performance goals and paved the way for increased market share in the future.
